Do not believe when they say it is in stock

When I go to purchase a product I would like to believe when the site says it is in stock. But you can't believe that it is actually in stock when ordering from Plow & Hearth.

After placing an order and waiting three days for a confirmation or tracking number, I looked at the status of my order and then said product was on backorder. So I called them on the telephone and they verified that it would be almost two weeks before they got another order in.

Less than an hour later after thinking about it I called them back to cancel my order and lo and behold they then claimed that a quantity had been received in! Not only was the quantity received in but my order was now in processing and they were unable to cancel the order. They said they would try and send an email to the shipping department but there was no guarantee that the order could be cancelled no. I guess they don't have telephones in the shipping Department!

Now it's going on 3 days and the order status still says processing!
I would steer clear of any site that tells you they have product in stock such as Plow & Hearth! First and last time placing an order with them!

I ordered a wooden bench from Plow & Hearth and received it on May 14, 2021. After unpacking the bench I noticed it was badly damaged. I immediately notified via email to Plow & Hearth that I want a replacement. On May 17 I was notified that a replacement had been ordere and I would receive it within 3-5 business days. On May 24, I still had not received the item nor any info that the item had shipped. I emailed the company again requesting and update and a tracking number. Still no communication. I called the company and was told they would check into the status. Still nothing. It is now June 1st and I still have no update that the item has shipped. My latest emails have gone unanswered. Worst customer service ever!! How sad because I do like their products. I will never order from this company again.

Bought a summer item and they will not ship until the end of September!

Worse than terrible customer service! IF you can get them to answer they do so at their leisure. A few friends had great experiences then terrible experiences so I tested my luck. All went well until they said they would not ship until at least end of September! Summer is over then. I was purchasing for my patio entertaining this summer. I read a lot of reviews trying to decide if I should take a chance on them. I'm just glad I bought only one thing to see how it would go. I do not recommend this company. Look around and you will find similar if not the same things they carry and at better prices. Pros: Nice selection Cons: Overpriced, little to no customer service, the slowest shipping in the industry from what I have found. Won't ever order from them again.

I ordered a firepit on May 1st

I ordered a firepit on May 1st. BEFORE I finished my transaction, I made sure to read the shipping timeline as I was ordering this for a camping trip. I read that once you place the order, it will ship within 2 business days. It is now May 5th and my order is still in "processing order" status. I"ve called to cancel and was told I couldn't. I called and spoke with a Supervisor who told me 2 days ago that my order should ship on that day we spoke... it didn't. I called again today and was told that the warehouse is behind and that my order should be shipping between 1 and 5 business days. How does a company like this stay in business?? This is the WORST and I will NEVER order from them again. That's what I get for not ordering the SAME thing from Amazon.
Update 5-6-21 I just called the company again because my order status has not changed, I was told that there is an issue at the warehouse and they can't figure out why this hasn't shipped. They told me that they escalated this to a manager and to give them one or two days to find out what's going on? IF this was a ligit company, the manager would have gotten on the phone with me, explained the situation, and made a commitment to look into it and tell me that they would call me back TODAY and actually do it. REALLY??? I wish to god that I would have read all the horrible reviews of this company before clicking that purchase button. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Bought battery powered candles…

Bought battery powered candles defective product caused battery acid to leak through on my furniture would not credit me because past the 90 day return,which they failed to tell me. Thank goodness they are closing, cheap defective products

No parts department at P&H

4 years ago I bought a wicker double glider from P&H. Part of the glider has failed and must be replaced for the glider to operate. I called P&H and was informed that they no longer have a parts department and since I bought the glider in 2017 there was nothing they could do. The glider is now useless. Good companies support the products they sell.

Solid people

This company has a totally disorganized, confused internal system, from the order process, to the end ship, which has been time-consuming, frustrating and actually silly, at times.
BUT....when all is said and done, the customer service people have all been extremely nice, helpful and eager to make things right. They’ve gone overboard to correct the hiccups and for that, I’m giving them four stars. In the end, what matters to me is honesty and integrity.

Totally disappointed with this company

Totally disappointed with this company. I’ve been a supporter for going twelve years when I first found them. Lately their customer service has gone down hill. They never can offer a solution to order issues. I was trying to place an order the last two days but kept having issues with delivery address. I had a discount code I was trying to use before it expired but had no luck. I called customer service, explained my problem, and the agent advised me my items were on back order. He asked if I wanted place the order anyway, and I said yes. When we got to the payment, he gave me the total of order. I asked about my discount code, and tells me the code expired at 12 midnight. I explained that I was having my troubles but he said there’s nothing that can be done. They have adopted the attitude of “you don’t like it? That’s to bad.” I have been loyal to this company, I give them plenty of business, but this is how I get treated. My last two orders in the last eight months, I’ve dealt with this kind of customer service. Time to look elsewhere. March 29 2021

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! I like everyone else would not give even 1 star. They let you order something, not available or on back order and then keep telling you different ship dates. Oh but they did point out to me when they finally responded to my email that I did receive the 2 other items I ordered. SO! 2 OUT OF 3, SERIOSLY. They are horrible'!

Sad state of affairs for online purchases

I would not give theme one star but it s the only way to write a review
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!
I ordered 3 items online to a local store for pickup. One item came in all three were charged. 2 moths later still waiting. Estimated another 6 weeks for the other items. So sad to see such a stellar company in this condition.

DON’T ORDER MONTHS OF FLOWER BULBS

DON’T ORDER MONTHS OF FLOWER BULBS. Very dissatisfied with my order and unfortunately I have written emails about my deliveries and have not received any replies.
Issue with my first delivery, several of my bulbs were not intact in the soil totally out of the pot, because the address label was placed on the wrong side of the box. They have an arrow showing which direction the box needs to be, but the label was on the wrong side, so of course people read the label so the box was turned over.
Second delivery does not include a wicker basket as the pictures show. Very misleading.

Horrible company!

Shipping? If you need it to arrive on time, do not order. If you can wait over 3, almost 4 weeks, while they charge your card, this might be the company for you. Oh, and do not forget, it will be 3 days before they can respond to an email, and can deal with damaged merchandise upon opening the item you have been waiting on almost a month. If it says it will be delivered by Christmas, ha ha ha, I wouldn't believe it, even if you PAY extra. ( Fireplace screen for Christmas present. )
